Highbury Media is a large independent magazine publishing company who is seeking to appoint an experienced Senior Sports copy editor to work on their dynamic sport titles. The successful candidate must be able to work well in a small but award-winning team, have an excellent eye for detail, have a thorough knowledge of sport and work well under deadline pressure.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

•Managing a client multi-sport publication

•Sub-editing, fact checking and proofreading copy across all other titles

•Sub-editing, proofreading and signing off layouts

•Trimming copy to fit layouts

Requirements:

• Previous copy editing experience in sport

• Ability to sub-edit copy to desired format

• A passion for sport

• A good understanding of production requirements and systems

• Ability to work accurately and professionally under pressure

• Excellent attention to detail

• A good team player who is nevertheless able to work under their own initiative

• Proactive and self-disciplined

• Problem solving and lateral thinking skills

• Computer literate and be able to use the internet as a research tool in a critical and informed manner

Shortlisted applicants will be asked to complete a copy editing test.
