Highbury Media (Pty) Ltd is a large independant magazine publishing company seeking a recent design, DTP or photography graduate to assist in the repro department. The position will involve some Adobe InDesign and Photoshop work and will include training.The internship would suit a person wishing to enter the industry, with an inclination towards technical work and an interest in photo-editing. The tasks will initially be very repetitive, and we require a candidate who does not bore easily and enjoys admin. Please be advised this position does not involve design.  

Key performance areas:

• deep-etching, basic image retouching
• pre-flighting and ensuring print-readiness of InDesign files, PDF generation

Learn systems and processes by:

• Trafficking print jobs for deadlines
• Checking digital magazines for consistency with print publications
• Working with the design and editorial departments

Essential software requirements:

• Adobe InDesign 
• Adobe Photoshop
