Journalism Intern

Ramsay Media has been dedicated to market leading, special interest publishing since 1933 and now it is your time to become part of a winning team. 

We are seeking a Journalism Intern to join our Popular Mechanics title. If you have a flare for the imaginative, a general understanding of engineering and can identify with the label “geek” we want to hear from you.

The successful incumbent will be exposed to the following:

• Copy Editing

• Brainstorming and pitching original content for all brand platforms

• Feature writing

• Product reviews

• Online content creation

• Video production

• Investigative journalism

Requirements: 

• A tertiary qualification in English and/or Journalism with an understanding of the Popular Mechanics Brand.

• Proactive and self-disciplined

• Willingness to learn 

• An active imagination

• General understanding of and interest in engineering and/or technology

• Excellent writing and organisational skills

• Able to work under deadline pressure 

• Work experience in the media industry would be an advantage
