Highbury Media (Pty) Ltd is SA’s largest independent magazine and digital publishing company responsible for some of the country’s best-performing titles. We are currently looking for a digital sports copy editor for our sports department.

The successful applicant will copy edit on Highbury Media’s sports websites [[sarugbymag.co.za]], [[sacricketmag.com]], [[sportsclub.co.za]], [[compleatgolfer.com]], [[fourfourtwo.co.za]] and [[sascoc.co.za]]. Preference will be given to candidates residing in Cape Town. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

-Correcting spelling, grammatical and factual errors.

-Ensuring appropriate style (using style guide).

-Liaising with writers when required.

-Updating the style guide in consultation with print copy editors.

-Training a copy editor intern.

Requirements

-Excellent grasp of the English language.

-Give attention to detail.

-Proactive and self-disciplined 

-Problem-solving and lateral thinking skills
