Highbury Media (Pty) Ltd is SA's largest independent magazine and digital publishing company responsible for some of the country's best-performing titles. We are currently looking for a Senior Designer for our design department.

The successful candidate will be responsible for

-Responsible for the overall look and feel of all products (print and digital)

-Make sure the magazine is to clients expected requirements

-Manage a team of junior designer

-Oversee the designs 

-Train and mentor junior staff

-Attend and direct photoshoots

-Conceptualise and design layouts

-Source photographic and illustrative images

-Liaise with editor and all shared resources over processes and making sure deadlines are met timeously

-Manage outsources freelancers

-Sign-off magazines’ colour pass at printers

Requirements:

-Three years of design experience in publishing

-A portfolio that demonstrates your ability to solve challenges with creative solutions

-An affinity with process

-The ability to be proactive

-The passion for working as part of a creative team.

-Communication skills

-Knowledge of Adobe CS applications and Mac OS
