Position Summary:

At Highbury Media we are continuously looking to strengthen our organisation by adding the best available talent to our existing staff complement. 

We are currently seeking a Talent Acquisition Officer/Specialist to help us source, identify, screen, and hire individuals for various roles across diverse departments in the business.

Our ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and organisational skills, 3 to 5 years’ experience in talent acquisition, demonstrated proficiency in Applicant Tracking Systems, and the ability to devise sourcing strategies for potential applicants.  The candidate will work closely with managers across different departments and should possess excellent interpersonal skills.

 

Objectives of the Role

·Input into overall hiring and recruitment strategy of the organisation to ensure our teams consist of a diverse set of qualified individuals.

·Proactive in identifying talent by creating a database of candidates for future vacancies.

·Initiate and implement creative solutions to source, engage and hire exceptional talent by using databases, social media and engage with universities, colleges, etc.

·Share market trends to the attraction and retention of scarce and critical in-demand talent.

·Redefine overall talent acquisition and recruitment strategy.

·Innovating and implementing new research methods and sourcing techniques.

·Assist with the full recruitment process: drafting vacancies, screening applicants, criminal checks, and provide feedback to applicants and managers.

·Form close relationships with hiring managers to ensure clear candidate and interview expectations.

·Communicate all vacancies internally before posting externally.

·Ensure all assessments of candidates are in line with management.

·Schedule Psychometric test depending on the requirements of role specification.

·Communicate the outcome to successful and short-listed candidates.

 

Job analysis

·Work closely with managers to gain a comprehensive understanding of the company's hiring needs for each position, and meet competitive hiring goals and expectations.

·Assist managers with succession planning for each department.

 

Induction

·Prepare and present the induction / on-boarding to new staff.

·Send an email to all staff informing of the new employee with picture and which department joined.

·Schedule exit interviews with candidates, and provide reports to the HR director.

 

Create and manage a communication online platform

·Communicate and update on HR related matters on the internal communication platform

·Assist with ad hoc HR administration as and when required

 

Required Competencies:

·Previous experience of working on applicant tracking systems

·Experience with building talent pools

·3 - 5 years recruitment and people talent management experience

·Extensive experience in sourcing/searching/tracking techniques

·Highly articulate, able to convey complex arguments and engage with senior-level executives in a polished and professional manner

·Demonstrate confidence, influence, persuasiveness, credibility, and personal trust

·Excellent analytical skills to examine resumes to find the best-suited candidates

·Proficient writing skills to produce reports on hiring analyses

·Excellent planning and organisational skills

·Facilitation skills

·Understanding of Visa and passport work

·Highly presentable with an energetic and positive vibe

·Basic understanding of relevant legislation such as BCEA, LRA, EEA, and POPI

·Understanding theoretical and practical implementation of HR-related policies

 

Qualifications

·3 years’ relevant HR experience.

·Degree/ Diploma in Human Resource Management or equivalent
