Highbury Media (Pty) Ltd is SA’s largest independent magazine and digital publishing company responsible for some of the country’s best-performing titles. We are currently looking for a Editorial and Digital Intern for our Editorial department.

The successful candidate will be exposed to:

-Generating story ideas daily

-Assist with fact-checking of stories

-Assist with editorial tasks

-Keeping abreast of current affairs and wedding trends

-Manage social media channels when necessary

-Brief in day-to-day content for all social media channels

-Manage monthly competitions across platforms

-Ensure all digital platforms are updated regularly

-Attends events when required

Requirements: 

-Tertiary qualification in English and/or journalism with a strong interest in the digital sphere, specifically social media.

-Proficiency in Photoshop, WordPress CMS, trending social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest) and a Mac operating system.

-Excellent writing, copy-editing and organisational skills.

-Able to work accurately under deadline pressure and willing to work overtime when necessary.

-Work experience in the media industry is an advantage.

-Have a strong understanding of online media
