Highbury Media (Pty) Ltd is SA’s largest independent magazine and digital publishing company responsible for some of the country’s best-performing titles. We are currently looking for a credit controller for our finance department.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Credit control
- Credit vetting
- Timeous collection of due and overdue receivables
- Age analysis management through the month
- Recon of debtors accounts
- Communicate with the sales department
- Achieve collection targets daily, weekly and monthly
- Maintaining contact with clients to ensure invoices are clear for payment
- Resolving queries both internally and externally around outstanding invoices
- Posting and allocating daily receipts to accounting systems
- Providing accounts information to internal departments
Data capturing
- Processing of receipts, journals, invoices, credit notes, etc. when required
- Pro forma invoices when required
- Recon and capture bank statements when required
- Process and send-off of final demands to delinquent accounts
- Default customers on Transunion when required
Weekly ad hoc and monthly reports
- Emailing of invoices, adverts, contracts when required
- Send out monthly statements
- Update debtors log with credit checks, etc.
- Assist credit manager with ITC credit checks, credit applications and bank codes
- Update, administer and email slow payer client list to various departments
- Monthly report on payment dates to the credit manager
- Daily payment dates to be emailed to the credit manager
- Update customer notes on Sage Evolution as well as the collection report
Queries
- Handle queries and communicate with the credit manager
- Assist with resolving queries
Filing
Requirements
- Must have grade 12 certificate as well as Credit Management 1,2 and 3
- Must have at least three years credit control experience within a finance environment
- Computer literate
- Excellent Communication skills
- Confidence and Persistence
- Ability to keep calm under pressure
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Good business acumen for problem solving
