Highbury Media T/A Habari Media is an independent magazine and digital publishing company responsible for some of the best-performing titles. We are currently looking for a Writer for our Sports brands.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

• Daily updates of Cricket and Golf sites with press releases and wire copy
• Compile regulars such as county cricket wraps
• Write a monthly feature for Sport print issue
• Create topical content such as polls, quizzes
• Compile, update, and work to a weekly diary based on the schedules of relevant team and/or competitions
• Write news stories using information from press releases or other sources
• Write opinion pieces when required

Requirements:

• Show a willingness to develop writing and video skills and grow within the company
• Ensure all content produced is factual, engaging, reader-friendly and of a high standard
• Show an understanding of writing for different audiences, including adapting language and tone
• Develop your sources and contacts within professional networks
• Show initiative and the ability to work unsupervised
• Exercise good time management and meet all deadlines
• Fact-check and self-edit all work
• Good time management skills
